( Karen Jackson, for The Baltimore Sun / November 10, 2012 ) Ray Lewis, Edie Brown and Stanley Brown You might have thought you entered a time warp as you walked through the doors of Maryland Art Place for its "LUX" Gala. Many guests got into the "old Hollywood glamor" theme in their outfits. But the crowd's focus was on a star very much of the current era. Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis -- event honorary co-chair with fiancee Juliana Childress. Lewis, an avid amateur photographer, also had five of his own pieces featured in the evening's exhibition. "We went through 800 to 1,000 photos to find the right ones," said Childress. "It's nice to hear the other photographers compliment his work." "It's fascinating seeing another aspect of Ray Lewis other than on the football field," said Lionell Sewell, Towson University geographic information scientist. "[Meeting] Ray, I never would've thought it would be in an art gallery. It's cool," said Chris Shifflett, GableSigns team leader. -- Sloane Brown |
