Burbank on Parade President Carey Briggs has announced that “Let's Go to the Movies” is the theme for the parade on April 6.
The parade committee has launched a major drive for volunteers and is getting an early start on fundraising, Briggs added.
The parade committee is organizing a fundraising comedy night at Flappers at 5 p.m. on Dec. 2. Tickets are $20.
Committee members manned booths at two events last weekend and gathered 100 names of prospective volunteers to help put on the parade. On Saturday they were at the Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter's Paws Matter Event at the Burbank Police & Fire Headquarters. Saturday and Sunday they were at the Fall Into the ARTS Festival in Downtown Burbank.
The next meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Burbank Historical Society's museum on Clark Avenue, next door to the Creative Arts Center in Izay Park. Parking is available in the park lots on Clark.

Guild helps ABC 7 toy drive
Providence St. Joseph Medical Center Guild will have ABC7 Eyewitness News weathercaster Garth Kemp as guest speaker beginning at 12:45 p.m. Nov. 14 at the medical center.
Each year Kemp hosts ABC7's Spark of Love Toy Drive “Stuff A Bus” events to collect toys for area children who would not have a holiday without the generosity of the community. This is the 20th anniversary of the toy drive.
The public is invited to stop by to meet Kemp and bring a toy.
