Anne Stuart Mills Kipke
Anne was born in Los Angeles, CA on April 25, 1935 to Dorothy G. and Harry B. Mills, and passed away on October 22, 2011 at the age of 76 in her home in Pasadena, CA surrounded by her family. She is survived by her daughter, Michele D. Kipke, Ph.D.; son, A. Karl Kipke; daughter-in-law, Nicole C. Kipke; and six adoring grandchildren. After graduating from Glendale High School, Anne attended the University of Southern California (USC) where she pledged to Alpha Chi Omega sorority and received her degree in Dental Hygiene in 1957. She was hired out of college by Dr. Neal Priske, DDS in Montrose, CA and she worked part-time with him until she retired more than 40 years later. Anne retired to Newport Beach, CA where she pursued her lifelong interest in painting. Her artistic talent landed her paintings in galleries from Laguna Beach to Carmel By The Sea. Anne collected antiques, played the piano, loved attending USC sporting events and treasured her classic car road trips all over the world with lifelong friend Nick Fintzelberg. What brought Anne the most joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren, whom she cherished and adored, and her best friend Sharon Hubanks and dearest love, Dr. Martin Carnow. Anne was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 and battled the disease with bravery and dignity. She lived cancer-free for nearly seven years until it was discovered again just days before she passed. Anne's family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at the Regency Park Fair Oaks and Vitas Hospice Care for the way they lovingly cared for Anne. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Global Promise Fund. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 29th at the Little Church of the Flowers, Forest Lawn - Glendale. Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries
