Hollywood Way to close Thursday night during carpool project construction
The street will reopen Friday morning. Some freeway ramps will also close.

Crews will begin closing the street from Glenoaks Boulevard to Keswick Street at 9 p.m. Thursday, with full closure from midnight until 6 a.m. Friday, according to the California Department of Transportation.
During the closure, a crane will be brought in to lift a large girder into place for future bridge work, said Caltrans spokesman Patrick Chandler.
He added that some lanes of I-5 will be closed during the project.
Nearby residents may hear noise and feel vibrations overnight, but the noise will not exceed levels allowed by federal regulations, according to Caltrans.
“By morning, when people are coming down to get to the [Bob Hope] airport, they should be able to get there without a problem,” Chandler said.
He added, however, that inclement weather could change plans for the project.
Detours, which will run along Glenoaks, Buena Vista Street and San Fernando Road, will be posted.
Airport travelers may also be affected by some intermittent closures of on- and off-ramps along I-5 through Saturday. They include:
Northbound I-5, eastbound and westbound on-ramps at Buena Vista, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m., and until 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Northbound 1-5, eastbound and west bound on-ramps at Hollywood Way, 9 p.m. - 10 a.m., and until 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Southbound I-5, eastbound and westbound off-ramps at Hollywood Way, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m., and until 8 a.m. on Saturday.
Southbound I-5, eastbound and westbound on-ramps at Hollywood Way, 7 p.m. – 5 a.m., and from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday.
The closures are part of a $121-million project to construct carpool lanes in each direction along the I-5 from the Hollywood (170) Freeway to Buena Vista.
