Teenagers took to a fashion runway in Burbank on Friday, showing off new trends as well as decades-old styles just in time for another school year.

The Burbank Town Center hosted its second annual "Back to School" fashion show in the mall's Center Court, where 23 models, ranging from children to college students, wore an array of fashions.

This year's show aimed to not just show what's "in" at school, but for the fall as a whole, said Linda Maxwell, special events coordinator for the center.

Hot Topic offered its take on punk rock from plaids, leather and T-shirts with graphics and superheroes. Other retailers, such as Charlotte Russe and Old Navy, kept a denim theme, pairing skinny jeans with colors and sweaters. Claire's and Icing matched accessories with various outfits.

But not all styles were "new." Sidecca, a vintage and mod clothing store, brought back decades-old fashion styles of tea dresses and embroidered sweaters. Make-up for the show was provided by Impulse, a cosmetics line at Macy's.

And the runway music, made to match each fashion's time period or style, was provided by RCL Entertainment.

"This (show) is done professionally with nonprofessional models," Maxwell said. "You can see yourself in those clothes when they're on regular people than on a mannequin."

Variety is key to this fall's trends, she added.

"This year's fashion trends are eclectic," Maxwell said.
