A 38-year-old Burbank man was arrested Friday morning after he allegedly threw a keyboard at a Burbank police officer at 24 Hour Fitness, where he had been asked to leave by the gym staff, police said.

Gym employees called police at 8:35 a.m. after the man, a gym patron identified as Eugeniy Babitsky, was allegedly being disruptive over how trainers were instructing fellow gym-goers, and asked to leave, said Burbank Police Lt. John Dilibert.

When police arrived to the gym lobby, the man reportedly refused to leave the gym and threw a computer keyboard at an officer, Dilibert said.

Officers reportedly subdued him with a Taser and arrested him on suspicion of battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and trespassing, Dilibert said.

Babitsky, who also reportedly had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for child endangerment, was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and is due in court next week, Dilibert said.
