GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Burroughs 61, Bonita 55: Aysia Shellmire finished with 23 points and seven rebounds Friday to lead the Indians (9-3) in a quarterfinal game of the West Coast Holiday Festival Gold Bracket game at Burroughs. Sidney Ortega contributed 12 points for the Indians, who got nine points and six rebounds from Davina Del Castillo and five steals and four assists from Delaney Nicol.

Burroughs will meet Sherman Oaks Notre Dame in a semifinal game at 6 p.m. Saturday at Burroughs.

In a tournament game Thursday, Burroughs picked up a 66-43 win against Notre Dame Academy. Shellmire had 13 points, six rebounds and seven blocks for the Indians. Ortega had 16 points for the Indians, who got eight points, 10 steals, nine rebounds, six assists and three blocks from Del Castillo. Paula Galicia had eight points and five steals for Burroughs, which got eight points and six rebounds from Brooke Radcliff.

Providence 50, Vincent Memorial 47: Bea Benedicto contributed 11 points and Katia Dabbaghian added nine Friday for the Pioneers in a consolation game of the Tri-City Christian Holiday Tournament in Vista.

In another tournament game Friday, Providence suffered a 53-46 loss against Heritage Christian. Dabbaghian finished with 10 points.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

La Salle 2, Burbank 0: Bulldogs goalkeepers Brianna Jacobo and Sarah Rangwala finished with four and three saves, respectively, for the Bulldogs in a fifth-place match of the Los Tacos Holiday Festival at the Glendale Sports Complex. In an earlier tournament match, Burbank posted a 1-0 victory against St. Joseph on a second-half goal by Maddie Carlborg.

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Burbank 78, Reseda 46: The Bulldogs improved to 2-1 in the Hart Tournament by winning the pool-play finale on Friday.

Senior guard Andy Yanikyan led the Bulldogs (6-5) with 16 points. Adam Pasco added 13 points for Burbank, which got 11 points from Richard Elmoyan and 10 from Sarkis Karian.

Burbank will face Grant at 6 p.m. in the third-place game.
