Burbank police are investigating a series of daytime burglaries in which two homes on the same street were broken into less than a week apart.

Between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Monday, suspects pried open the rear sliding glass door of a home in the 2600 block of North Brighton Street and stole a computer and game accessories, Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn said Tuesday.

There were no reported witnesses, he added.

Four days earlier, a home just down the street in the 900 block of North Brighton Street was broken into, according to Burbank Police Lt. Eddie Ruiz.

Between 9:40 a.m. and 10:40 a.m., the sliding glass door was shattered to gain entry. The property loss was not immediately available.

The incidents appear to be random acts, Ryburn said, but he urged residents to keep close eyes on their neighborhoods for suspicious activity.

“Once they see someone’s watching them, they’ll leave the area,” Ryburn said of would-be criminals. “We’d rather prevent a burglary than have to respond to one.”
