Burbank police are investigating a robbery attempt in which a pizza delivery man who was sitting on a curb after locking himself out of his car Sunday was confronted by two men demanding money.

After delivering a pizza to a home in the 2500 block of North Buena Vista just before 7 p.m., the victim returned to his car only to notice he’d locked himself out, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

As he waited for AAA roadside assistance, two men approached and demanded money. Fearing the suspects were armed, the victim ran into the street and tried to wave down oncoming traffic.

The two men subsequently tried to steal the victim’s car, but gave up after realizing it was locked.

Instead, they snatched the pizza delivery bag, threw it on the ground and ran.

One suspect was described as Latino, roughly 26 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 160 pounds with short dark hair, and as wearing a gray jacket with blue jeans.

The second man was described as also being Latino, roughly 32 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 200 pounds and as wearing a blue jacket with jeans.

They were last seen running westbound on Tulare Avenue.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call Burbank police at (818) 238-3210.
