If you've been to a neighborhood council meeting in the North Hollywood area in recent years, you've probably heard a neighbor or police officer mention prostitution as an issue on certain streets. But some residents are reporting a drop in sightings, according to Patch.

Don't wake the angry Valley dwellers so they won't attempt to drive to the beach this weekend. Officials held a powwow on a roof Tuesday to coordinate with helicopters to turn down the volume this weekend. If you didn't know, it's Carmageddon II and the city really wants you to stay at home, again. Patch

And while parts of the 405 Freeway are closed, other events, including a triathlon, will close streets and draw traffic to the region. Excellent planning. L.A. Observed

A 16-year-old boy's death was ruled an accident, officials said. The North Hollywood boy died in July after boxing at a Burbank gym. His cause of death was a ruptured spleen, according to the coroner. Burbank Leader
