Despite screening 803 vehicles overnight Saturday, not a single motorist was arrested for drunk driving during a sobriety checkpoint in Burbank, police reported.
The DUI checkpoint on San Fernando Boulevard, which operated from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., screened 803 vehicles. Of those, two drivers were detained for a field sobriety test, but were not arrested, police said.
Two citations were issued to unlicensed drivers, while another was issued for driving with a suspended license. One vehicle was impounded.
By contrast, Glendale police stopped 70 vehicles and arrested nine drivers on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs during a saturation patrol Saturday night.
