A 24-year-old Burbank man was arrested in connection with a double-stabbing on Saturday afternoon that left two men hospitalized with serious injuries, police said. The suspect, identified by police as Eric Petrossian, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.
Petrossian was released after posting $30,000 bail and is due in court next month.
The victims, both in their early 20s, were hospitalized after they were each stabbed multiple times. One of the men underwent emergency surgery on Saturday evening. As of Monday, he remained in the hospital while the second victim had been released.
The victims reportedly knew each other, though their relationship with Petrossian was unknown.
Police responded to the 1000 block of East Angeleno Avenue at about 3:50 p.m. Saturday following reports of a possible stabbing. When officers arrived they reportedly found both victims in a car outside one of their homes.
The stabbing, however, apparently occurred several blocks away in a church parking lot near Sunset Canyon Drive and Orange Grove Avenue, Ryburn said. The pair had reportedly attempted to drive home while injured.
The incident occurred after a verbal argument, Ryburn said, though further details were not available.
Police have recovered the weapon, which Ryburn described as a “sharp-bladed object.”
Police urged anyone with information about the incident to call Burbank police at (818) 238-3000.
