The parade, which will kick off at 11 a.m., will travel east on Olive Avenue from Keystone to Lomita streets.
Rebecca Mieliwocki, a Glendale resident and seventh-grade English teacher at Luther Middle School in Burbank, was chosen as this year’s parade grand marshal. Mieliwocki was honored by President Barack Obama in 2012 after being selected as National Teacher of the Year.
The parade is organized entirely by volunteers, and between 10,000 and 15,000 people are expected to attend, said Burbank on Parade President Carey Briggs.
“It’s a celebration of the community, so a lot of people come out for it,” Briggs said, adding that he’s most looking forward to “seeing the little kid on the street with a big smile.”
