Burbank firefighters rescued two cats from a house fire on Saturday that caused an estimated $35,000 in damage, authorities said.

At 8:45 p.m., firefighters were called to the 100 block of North Sparks Street, where they found a one-story home with fire coming from the front window, said Burbank Fire Capt. Peter Hendrickson.

The blaze was knocked down in roughly 20 minutes by 23 fire personnel.

Two cats were rescued from the burning home and treated by animal control officers, Hendrickson said.

The American Red Cross assisted two displaced residents. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
