A 36-year-old Burbank woman was arrested Monday after allegedly throwing her shoes at a Kmart employee after he told her she couldn’t take her shopping cart into the restroom, police said.
At 9:40 p.m., Pecola Coleman tried to take her cart into the restroom at the store, which is located at 1000 North San Fernando Boulevard, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.
After a loss-prevention officer told her not to, she reportedly began yelling at him, and allegedly threw both of her shoes at him, hitting him in the chin and shoulder, Ryburn said.
As the 50-year-old man turned to walk away, Coleman reportedly threatened him by saying, “I’m going to get you, I have a gun,” Ryburn said.
Upon responding, police discovered Coleman had three outstanding warrants for her arrest.
Coleman was arrested on suspicion of battery and making criminal threats, and was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
