Starting Thursday, Megabus, an express bus service known for its low fares, will offer six trips daily to San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland from the Downtown Burbank Metrolink Station, located at 201 N. Front St.
Limited $1 tickets are available for each trip, but the trick is to book early, with Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays typically offering the lowest rates, Alvich said.
As the travel date gets closer, the cost goes up. But tickets are still available to depart tomorrow, with one-way ticket prices ranging from $34 to $41.
The double-decker buses, which can carry up to 77 travelers, are equipped with free Wi-Fi, power outlets and reclining seats, Alvich said.
From Burbank, the trips take between six and seven hours depending on the destination.
Launched seven years ago in Chicago, Megabus has carried 28 million people through roughly 100 cities. For more information, visit megabus.com.
