Story | Oct 14, 2014 | 1:19 PMThe U.S. Supreme Court this month heard the case of Gregory Holt, a prisoner serving a life sentence in Arkansas who says he wants to grow a beard in observance of his religious beliefs. The state of Arkansas considers the converted Muslim, who now calls himself Abdul Maalik Muhammad, to be dangerous and prison officials maintain that a beard can cause a security risk. The Supreme Court is expected to announce its ruling in the case next spring.
