    Mickey was born in Illinois with Down Syndrome and 3 holes in her heart. Around 9 months of age, it was determined that surgery needed to be done soon. Mickey's parents had to move their family of 3 back to Indiana where they grew up so she could have heart surgery at Riley. On March 31, 1998, Micky had open heart surgery to repair the 3 holes.
